Situation ledger
What is known, what is not,and who says so.
Newest first. Every entry names its source, the date that source published, and how much weight it can hold — so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
This is a record, not an instruction. Evacuation guidance and risk ratings for particular places come from the authorities accountable for them, and you should follow those rather than this.

Confidence labels
- Confirmed
- Stated by a named institutional source, or directly observable in published data.
- Likely
- Supported by evidence, reported by a credible source, not yet institutionally confirmed.
- Hypothesis
- A working assumption held by responders. Not established. May be wrong.
- Moving
- Changes faster than this page updates. Read the timestamp, then check the source.
Entries
The ledger opens as entries are verified. Every one carries a named source, the date that source published, and how much weight it can hold — which is slower than reposting, and the reason it is worth reading. Have something sourced? Send it over.
Spotted an error, or have something sourced we are missing? corrections@nepalhackathon.org. Corrections go up in public, with the original left visible.
